The World English Bible (WEB) was prepared especially for the Web. It is based on the American Standard Version, but is being revised in an effort to produce an English Bible that is understandable by all people with at least an average knowledge of English. It is in the public domain, and is available in various electronic formats at: http://www.ebible.org.
The World English Bible in this present form was developed as an optional module to Agape-Biblia, the first Russian-language hypertext Bible for Windows. The goal was to produce a very compact Bible that would interface with the Russian Agape-Biblia. But the World English Bible can also be used as a stand-alone module. As finished versions of the remaining Old Testament books of the World English Bible become available, we will update our module.
