For far too long, U.S. tax codes have allowed two singles to claim a lower income tax rate than a married couple, which encourages cohabitation among young people instead of life-long marriage, increasing the number of children in single-parent households, as well as increasing abortions. This has also led to a dangerously low birth rate in the U.S. that in turn encourages illegal immigration. All this illustrates there is a direct connection between sexual morality and effective public policy, in contrast to the nonsensical "liberal" mantra - "you can't legislate morality!"
We must encourage churches, synagogues and other private charitable organizations to exercise their freedom of religious expression and promote marriage and family values before our society collapses due to the current low birth rate and high rate of out-of-wedlock births. The current U.S. welfare system rewards unwed women for having babies by giving them a stipend while their babies are pre-school age. This has led to many unwed women having another baby every 4-5 years to stay on welfare.
The absence of the father in a household has a disastrous effect especially on boys who grow up in poverty, undisciplined and without a positive male role model, leading to a culture of violence and rebellion. Is it any wonder that the inner-city violent crime rate is so high?
