Practical Minististries - Introduction

Jesus Christ first proclaimed that His ministry would be to the poor, the maimed, the lame and the blind (biblia02/nz03/Luka04.htm#18">Luke 4:18-21 and biblia02/nz03/Luka14.htm#12"> Luke 14:12-13 and 21). Then He showed His disciples how to preach the Gospel and minister to the sick, handicapped and poor (biblia02/nz03/Luka05.htm#1"> Luke 5:1-14). Next, He sent them out two by two and they practiced what He taught (biblia02/nz03/Luka09.htm#1"> Luke 9:1-2). Last, in the Great Commission, Jesus commanded His disciples to teach people to do everything He had taught the disciples to do. This is not just dry theory or theology: it is practical, hands-on ministry!

These lectures require a new way of thinking and learning: you can't just suppose that you already know enough about psychology and anatomy, about taking care of handicapped people, or about various clinical conditions. Vocational rehabilitation is a new, integrated approach to all of these areas. And you can't simply read and memorize for an examination, because your life is the examination! You can't just cram for the exam and the next day flush-and-forget all the information. You need to meditate every week about these materials, in order to integrate them into your approach to people who need to return to a full and rewarding life.

Every lecture requires your full attention and participation on time, according to the schedule - you can't put off all the lectures to the end of the semester, then copy notes from another student. It is long ago proven that most real aquisition of knowledge takes place at every lesson and in discussions with the instructor and other students. This is an extremely important fact!

Your regular interaction is required! Enter into the discussion in each lesson - don't be shy! Only in this way will you carry away from these courses new skills for your life. If you don't participate or turn in three lessons in a row on time, according to the schedule without advance permission of the instructor, you will be dis-enrolled. Dear disciple, please study this course so that you will be able to teach others also (biblia02/nz23/2Timof02.htm#2">2 Timothy 2:2)!
